Le Don Hilton... ❤ ... is an 18th-century guard house and powder magazine that sits on the seawall on St. Ouen's Bay. It is also known, and loved by islanders, as "the Little White House" because of its whitewashed walls and vault, and its distinctive appearance makes it an informal landmark for sailors. The cottage, together with four vergees (a French acre), to the National Trust for Jersey by Marie Genevieve Hilton in 1975. In my book it's never too early, especially when it's all for charity. This is Mr and Mrs Claus's home in the North Pole. Painstakingly made, mainly from recycled cardboard, old clear folders, old twigs, fake grass, and odds 'n' sods rounded up from Acorn that I felt would lend themselves to the project. This house was also in a competition I ran last year... It was won by a lady who said her granddaughter was too young to enjoy it, and wanted it to be run again this year. How generous was that ❤️ To find out a little more about the house check out the comments for a few more pictures and blurb, as I post them... Gotta keep the intrigue going! The house can be seen from tomorrow, at Reg’s Garden - St Brelade. To win it, all you have to do is guess how many hours and minutes it took me to make.
