Seymour Tower 💖 Seymour Tower was built in 1782 on the rocky outcrop, almost two miles off the south-east coast of Jersey, known as L’Avarison Islet following the Battle of Jersey in 1781. The islet provided a secure base and a practical location for early warning of any impending attack. Whilst the exact date of construction is unknown, it is believed that the tower was built by the time of the Battle of Jersey in January 1781.
