In my book it's never too early, especially when it's all for charity. This is Mr and Mrs Claus's home in the North Pole. Painstakingly made, mainly from recycled cardboard, old clear folders, old twigs, fake grass, and odds 'n' sods rounded up from Acorn that I felt would lend themselves to the project. This house was also in a competition I ran last year... It was won by a lady who said her granddaughter was too young to enjoy it, and wanted it to be run again this year. The house can be seen from tomorrow, at Reg’s Garden - St Brelade. To win it, all you have to do is guess how many hours and minutes it took me to make. I spend a lot of time creating images for social media. It’s important to me that my images reflect my work and are uniquely ME, and ~ I hope ~ at the same time appealing in a way that makes people want to click on my work. Don't quite think I've got that bit right yet! 🙄 I admit, sometimes I’m better at this than at others! That probably depends on my mood! When I need it to work and hit the publish button, it seems most times my images fall flat. I know it, and it's disappointing. I can create beautiful images, but if my words miss the mark, my post is going to be in the dark. We are absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring to you the fantastic artwork of Mary Goss. If you want to own an original painting of Jersey at very reasonable rates look no further. At our market this Saturday, we will be concentrating on local sketches, watercolours and oils of our beautiful island, as shown. Some framed and some not. As many of you will know, Mary was a primary school teacher specialising in arts and crafts. She painted in watercolour, oils and acrylics, and could often be seen painting around the island's coastlines, as well as being an accomplished needlewoman. She was a member of the JSA until age and disability caught up with her. Do come along and support her work, take a piece of original Jersey artwork home with you.
