The drinks coaster, or whatever use you have in mind, is made of beautiful, hard wearing pine, with bark, to give it a more rustic look. Whenever I can, I try to use local wood... mostly Ash. Pieces are hand drawn, pyrographed or painted with acrylics, then varnished, with superior yacht varnish, to provide a level of protection against any spills, and to ensure they last a long time and your drinks won't remove the design! Completed by 4 clear bubble feet to protect your furniture. The coasters are roughly 9cm in diameter by 1cm deep. ***Do not leave in water and to clean, wipe with damp cloth/cleaning wipe. Wherever possible, I like to recycle. There's nothing more satisfying than giving an old, tired piece a new lease of life. In these pictures you will see the whole process after sanding. This particular piece is a 16 inch square side table. Once the "sandman" has worked his magic, I can begin transferring the image. I have chosen a theme of fantasy. Once the transfer is complete, I then have to decide which pyro tips I want to use. With the intricate bits done, it's time to burn the surface. It's time consuming, but I find it very therapeutic. Then decide... To paint or not to paint!! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I have chosen mainly metallic colours, and will be adding more coats in places, to solidify the colours. I am thoroughly enjoying this imaginative piece, though it's taking it's own sweet time to come together, with all the other things I have to do. I have my ideas firmly in place for the legs.
