In my book it's never too early, especially when it's all for charity. This is Mr and Mrs Claus's home in the North Pole. Painstakingly made, mainly from recycled cardboard, old clear folders, old twigs, fake grass, and odds 'n' sods rounded up from Acorn that I felt would lend themselves to the project. This house was also in a competition I ran last year... It was won by a lady who said her granddaughter was too young to enjoy it, and wanted it to be run again this year. The house can be seen from tomorrow, at Reg’s Garden - St Brelade. To win it, all you have to do is guess how many hours and minutes it took me to make. About My Coasters... Handcrafted, personalised wood slice coasters, the perfect gift for any occasion for your family and friends offering that personal touch for all your needs. The drinks coaster, or whatever use you have in mind, is made of beautiful, hard wearing pine, with bark, to give it a more rustic look. Whenever I can, I try to use local wood... mostly Ash. Pieces are hand drawn, pyrographed or painted with acrylics, then varnished, with superior yacht varnish, to provide a level of protection against any spills, and to ensure they last a long time and your drinks won't remove the design! Completed by 4 clear bubble feet to protect your furniture. The coasters are roughly 9cm in diameter by 1cm deep. *Do not leave in water and to clean, wipe with damp cloth/cleaning wipe. We are absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring to you the fantastic artwork of Mary Goss. If you want to own an original painting of Jersey at very reasonable rates look no further. At our market this Saturday, we will be concentrating on local sketches, watercolours and oils of our beautiful island, as shown. Some framed and some not. As many of you will know, Mary was a primary school teacher specialising in arts and crafts. She painted in watercolour, oils and acrylics, and could often be seen painting around the island's coastlines, as well as being an accomplished needlewoman. She was a member of the JSA until age and disability caught up with her. Do come along and support her work, take a piece of original Jersey artwork home with you.
